Hi,
My name is Laurietta and I am 28 years old. I have CIDP/Fibromyalgia/Epilepsy/Possible MS.  I have recently been
diagnosed with Cervical Cancer and S
tage IV Mantle Cell Lymphoma. Will know soon on this one. So I do know how difficult
things can be and believe in to keep pushing toward my goal!

I am now trying out for the Para Equestrian Olympics riding a dressage stallion, that at times can be hot and difficult. I do
have weakness in my legs and arms and wear full leg braces. Times are better now than what they were. I have been in
horses since I was 13, but had to earn and buy my horse, including working off lessons. I had a promising jumping career
and got hurt and thought everything was lost, including my goal to go to the Olympics.

Then one day, I just decided that I couldn't sit around anymore. I went to work to try to get better. I was paralyzed
completely, later finding out that I had GBS, been on a ventilator twice, but have overcame all that to ride competively on a
Andalusian Stallion that is also trick trained. I do exhibitions with him to help people realize that just because you are
disabled, there is a lot you can do in your life. The Andalusian Stallion, Quimerico, lies down for me to help get on him.
Occasionally, when he knows he’s done well in a dressage show, he will even bow at the very end.

I am looking for sponsors or Donations now to help me achieve my goal to go to the Para equestrian world champions and
Olympics, if I qualify, but have to get the training for this. Things are hard financially. I have also trained under Monty
Roberts International Learning Center and started a career in behavior training. I take on horses others aren't willing to
train to turn them around. At this time, I am hoping and praying one day that I can build my own facility with an Indoor arena
so that I don't have to work in the freezing cold temps of OH. It is bad on my disease and usually will end up putting me in
the hospital. But it is worth it if I can do my love and joy of riding. I also have a pain disorder, Fibromyalgia, which can be
very difficult, but the riding seems to help.  To help my disability, I also do deep and shallow water aerobics twice a week,
pilates 1-2x/week, and swim at least twice a week. I am getting ready to start trying to lift weights. Sometimes I am doing
exercises at midnight to make sure that I get in my PT for the day besides riding.  I want this more than anything.

They have put my story on the local news in our area and have now picked up my story on the local newspapers. I do know
that Columbus, OH NBC news station is also suppose to be doing a story.  I want to  help spread around what disabled
people can do. That you don't need to sit and die, that you can gain everything and the life you. My life is better in many
ways and wouldn't give up what I had now. I love my life with the horses and what I do for people and disabled people
around me.

I am now working on getting Quimerico noticed in the movies, that is my next goal.

Thanks again.
Laurietta
